3 Packers Who Wont Survive The Season In Green Bay

3 Packers Who Won't Survive the Season in Green Bay

Matt LaFleur is cleaning house

Matt LaFleur is entering his fourth season as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, and he's finally starting to put his stamp on the team.

After three seasons of Aaron Rodgers drama, LaFleur has had enough. He's made it clear that he's not going to tolerate any more distractions, and he's willing to make some tough decisions to get the team back on track.

These three Packers are on the chopping block

One of the biggest changes LaFleur is making is to the team's defense. The Packers have been one of the worst defenses in the NFL for the past few years, and LaFleur is determined to fix that.

He's already made some big moves, signing free agents Jarran Reed and De'Vondre Campbell, and drafting Quay Walker in the first round of the NFL Draft.

These moves have made the Packers defense much better on paper, but there are still some question marks. Here are three Packers who won't survive the season in Green Bay:

1. Dean Lowry

Lowry has been a solid player for the Packers, but he's not a star. He's 32 years old, and he's coming off a season in which he missed 10 games due to injury.

With Reed and Walker now in the fold, Lowry is expendable. He's not good enough to be a starter, and he's not young enough to be a long-term project.

2. Rashan Gary

Gary was a first-round pick in 2019, but he hasn't lived up to expectations. He's only had 6.5 sacks in three seasons, and he's been a liability against the run.

With Walker now in the fold, Gary is no longer needed. He's not good enough to be a starter, and he's not young enough to be a long-term project.

3. Jaire Alexander

Alexander is the Packers' best cornerback, but he's also one of their most injury-prone players. He's missed 16 games in the past two seasons, and he's already missed time this preseason with a groin injury.

The Packers can't afford to rely on Alexander to stay healthy. They need to find a more durable option at cornerback.
